Job Description

A Facilities Manager interacts with customers, provides information about the organization’s services, and may respond to customer complaints if needed. This role devises strategies and policies to ensure that an organization meets its goals by planning, directing, and coordinating daily operational activities. Problem-solving is required to identify issues and recognize shortcomings and effectively carry out solutions. People in this role assess different options and choose the best course of action, often on a daily basis. He or she, must be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to effectively discuss issues and negotiate with others, direct subordinates, and explain their policies and decisions to those within and outside the organization.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES
◦Establish and enforce company and customer goals, policies, and procedures
◦Formulate policies and manage daily operations to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided
◦Manage general activities related to enhancing work performance and providing services
◦Consult with other executives, staff, and board members about general operations
◦Identify places to improve performance, policies, and programs
◦Promote responsibility for safe and controlled work environments
◦Ensure that all customer complaints are handled professionally, appropriately, and in a timely manner
◦Manage existing business, and oversee foremen and laborers responsible for servicing projects

REQUIREMENTS
◦Bachelor’s degree in business administration or closely related field
◦3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience with strong emphasis on customer service
◦Demonstrates strong skills in: Communication, Decision-making, Leadership, and Problem-solving
◦Demonstrates professional and political aptitude
◦Bilingual (English/French)
◦Strong computer proficiency skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Most Facilities Managers work indoors, but some work outdoors part of the time. Because supervisory and management is required, position may, at times, require individual to stand, walk, crouch, bend, and/or reach. The work may be physically demanding and sometimes dirty and unpleasant.
