Job Description

The Senior Facilities Manager, reports to the Director of Workplace Solutions. This person will lead a service oriented team that promote and deliver a safe and accessible work environment for all employees, associates and their guests. The team will proactively ensure the efficient and effective operation of Sun Life’s Corporate Headquarters and auxiliary Toronto site(s). As One York is Sun Life’s Corporate Headquarters, the Senior Facilities Manager will be the lead for newly created policies, processes and procedures that will be implemented and rolled-out globally.
•Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with best practices, company requirements, local ordinances and applicable codes/regulations
•Ensure that all properties within their scope are well managed and maintained within the guidelines established by Senior Management
•Execute on service level agreements (SLA) to ensure that Facility operations are delivering a cost effective, quality service to all clients
•Team Leadership to a team of 4, comprised of moves and space management and facility Coordination
•Work closely with other CRE Departments including: Enterprise Security, Leasing & Transactions Management, Workplace Strategy, Project Management, US Operations, Account Management
•Work closely with other Enterprise Services Departments including: Data Centre Operations, Technology, On-Site Support, Sustainability, Sourcing, Procurement and Finance
•5 years demonstrated Facility Management or Property Management experience
•Facilities Management diploma or equivalent experience (+5 years)
•Project Management skills/experience (3 years minimum)
•Exemplary communication skills, written and verbal, able to consult with a wide range of stakeholders, write reports, high level business correspondence and procedures manuals
•Strong strategic mindset and experience developing and implementing facility management plans in an office environment
•Ability to handle multiple demands and able to adapt to changing priorities
•Brings in-depth knowledge of facilities best practices and processes
•Proficient in Excel
